What type of charging adapter can I use for my RoWrite?

The RoWrite draws .54A of current so it can be hooked up to any power adapter that outputs exactly 5V and at least .54A. Smart Phone adapters are usually 1A while tablet adapters are 2 A so can be used.

How long does it take to charge my RoWrite?

It will take about 105 minutes to fully charge a completely drained battery with a 1A adapter. A fully charged battery will last about 8 hours. Note that standard USB ports on computers tend to be lower current and this would result in a longer time to charge the battery.

What kind of battery do I need for my RoWrite?

The RoWrite pen takes a AAAA battery which is included in the box.

Can I use any paper on my RoWrite?

The RoWrite uses A5 size paper. To use paper other than the Royole RoWrite paper, you can fold standard A4 printer paper in half and it will fit (except for the two paper guides). It is critical that the paper not move during writing so that the pen strokes may be recorded accurately. It is also important that you not turn the page you are writing on. If you must rotate your drawing paper turn the whole tablet .

*Although the tablet will record whether you use paper or not we encourage you to not draw on the tablet without paper.

How can I change the ink on my pen?

The Rowrite uses a standard D1 (mini-ball point) pen ink replacement. You can use the pen ink refill tool provided with your RoWrite to clamp down on the ink stem and pull the empty cartridge out. Use the same tool to help push the new refill all the way into the pen.

What is the memory of my RoWrite?

There is 16MB of internal memory to store pen strokes in both space and time with pressure sensitivity. The more dense the drawing with lines, the more memory is taken by a page. 16MB will store between 20 and 50 pages depending on pen stroke density.

*Note: Transmitting internal memory to the RoWrite app erases it from the RoWrite tablet and clears the memory banks for more notes.

Why is my RoWrite not writing?

The green light of the Operating Indicator is significant because it confirms that your writing is being recorded. If the green light does not light when you are writing (and the unit is powered up) you must make space by uploading the contents of the RoWrite memory to the RoWrite app. Also, check that your pen has the battery installed with the cap tightened all the way and also the distance of the pen tip from the tablet surface is 2mm. This is about 20 standard printer pages thick.

Why did my RoWrite turn off?

If the RoWrite is inactive for 20 minutes it will enter a sleep mode to conserve power. RoWrite can be brought back out of sleep mode by pressing the power button. RoWrite will assume you are on the same page as when it went to sleep. Alternatively, ensure you have checked battery life to ensure it is properly charged.
